Scissors: NO-NO NO MORE!

After some time of restriction, I have finally decided to REALLY let Lia use scissors.

When she was just 3, I saw a cute pink scissors for kids. Being the doting mother that I am, I immediately bought her one without thinking of the implications. She instantly loved it, thus her cutting spree. It was fine at first. She cuts every piece of paper she gets hold of.

It was safe, by the way, since it's blades were made of plastic and not steel, so it cuts papers but not skin.

The endless confetti I could take, but not this one incident that made me forbid her to ever touch scissors again:
She probably grew tired of her cute little scissors, so when she saw a real scissors, thinking it was  alright for her to play with scissors, she grabbed it. And the next thing I knew: piles of hair were all over the floor.
Apparently, she cut her hair and my brother's.
I was so upset I could cry.
Haha.

But past is past.
And she's almost 5 now.
I think she now understands that she needs to use scissors responsibly. :)

BC Bloggers Meme: Family Bonding

"The best inheritance a parent can give to his children is a few minutes of their time each day."
- M. Grundler

I belong to a 'very-family-oriented' clan.
Why 'very-family-oriented'?
I belong to a clan where parents (already my grandparents), tend to hold on to their kids even after marriage, and have kids of their own.
YES, We live with our grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Our widow Grand Matriarch can't seem to let her children go, even now that they're no longer children, and now have their family, kids, and even grandkids of their own.
And the same applies to the widow Grand Matriarch's widow sisters.
And although we don't live with our grandmother's sisters, they're just around the corner. =)
This is why we're close not only to our first-cousins, but also to our second-cousins.

It is, however, undeniable that time can make people grow apart.
Time flies so fast that we sometimes fail to notice our routines change.

It's a good thing that no matter how busy everyone has become, we manage to spend time together whenever possible.

YES, WHENEVER POSSIBLE.
WE MAKE EVERY MOMENT COUNT.

For us, the rain isn't an excuse, it could, in fact, be the reason.

Together we try to reach the sky.

We bite each other.

We jump on the mattress regardless of our age. ;D

We make ONE enough.

We make life a feast.

We cam-whore while we drive ;)

We celebrate accomplishments with the ones who appreciate them most, FAMILY.

Life is Family; and Family is Life

How about you?
I'm sure you have your own ways of strengthening your family bonds.
Tell us how you do it.

BC Bloggers Meme: A Photo Blog For A Change

Really, this is something 'for a change' for me.
Blogging sure do give me a lot of 'First Times'. :)
Thanks to Toned Down and Vintage for suggesting this topic and hosting this week's meme.
Join here if you wish to take your blogging to the next level.

This was an impromptu from my Pirate cousin.
She was supposed to slice the cake when I took this picture.

**DON'T WORRY!
She didn't stab my sister. She was just playing around.
This might look bad for some.
But she's NORMAL, she doesn't have any psychiatric problem or the likes.

But feel free to write your own stories, interpretations, and what-have-yous of the photo above.

Now Panda Robe

It was in March when my cousin handed me a plain white robe and asked me to transform it into a panda. It was just a request, so there was no rush. Although a few days after that, I already bought a black fabric that I will be using for that. Sloth, however, set in. So the question of when will I be starting with the panda remained unanswered.

But after over 2 months of procrastination, I decided to get it over and done with. I honestly needed to drag myself into doing it, since I wasn't really in the mood for sewing.

Anyways, I mustered up all my will, and finished it.
Too bad I remembered to take a 'before' picture after I finished.
HAHA.

Anyways,
US as PANDA...

the princess as panda

BC Bloggers Meme: Count Your Blessings!

Oh yeah!
BC Bloggers makes blogging a BLAST!
See for yourself!

This week's topic source is Daddy Yashiro.
Anyway, this would be my THIRD ATTEMPT to join BC Bloggers Meme.
I've been drafting posts for the previous memes, but never really finished any of those two.
Main reason?
I have been very busy scorching from one place to another in pursuit of a language book for my daughter.
Another reason?
Ever since our laptop, which I regularly use, crashed,
the most convenient means of internet access for me would be thru our tab.
I, however, cannot upload photos on blogger there, which was unfortunate because I wanted my entries to have photos.
I could use another laptop,
but minimal usage must be observed.

I'm starting to blab again.
Haha.
Anyways, I'm not quite sure what to put.
I hit rewind, and thoroughly looked for blessings I received this past week, but it's all a blur.
Now, this is difficult.
But there's got to be something.
We are always blessed. We just fail to see it sometimes, especially the small ones, but blessings are always with us.
Proof? We have air to keep us breathing.

But for the past week, here are some of the blessings I have noticed:

1. REALIZATION - I know I have been BLESSED when it comes to my daughter. And this morning, I have come to realize another blessing I have in her. I NEVER HAD TO TEACH HER HOW TO WRITE. I helped  my little brother with his assignment earlier, and it was a headache. He can't even hold his pencil right. HAHA. And then it hit me. I never had that headache with my princess. In fact, the headache would be to restrain her from holding pens, and doodling on anything.

2. I REPAIRED HER UNIFORM - Again, about my princess. As much as possible, I don't acknowledge it whenever she gains weight. I'm not sure whether to or not to believe in 'USOG', but most of the time, she gets sick and/or loses weight when she gains. This is why I just feel blessed having to repair her uniform to give her more room to breathe. :))

3. ONE TASK DOWN - The pursuit for the language book of my daughter is overrrrr. ;)

4. MORE TIME - I thought I had sign up for this week's BC Bloggers CommEx, but the spreadsheet established me wrong. HAHA. It was a BLESSING in DISGUISE. I now have time to make up for the time spent scorching.

5. FAMILY BONDING - yeah, baby! Quality T-I-M-E will be spent with my family laterrrrr. ;)

**This list could go on forever. Blessings come our way everyday in different forms. Let's count our blessings, and embrace them! :)
