Kinder Field Trip: Science Centrum

I'm not a big fan of science. 

Never. 

I never failed in any Science subject, or so I'd like to think. 

Haha. 

Well, I did fail in Zoology, intentionally, back in college.

Everybody's taking up Nursing then, and for some reason, I got persuaded, over-leaping the fact that blood makes me sick.

I don't hate science, it just happens to be my least favorite subject.

So, when I've read that we were going to Science Centrum, again, I'm not the happiest.

Haha.

But again, unexpectedly, I had fun.

Science Centrum is located at E-com Building, Riverbanks Center, Marikina City.

They are open daily except Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Adults/s:      Php 120/head
Student/s: (private school)     Php 120/head
                    (public school)      Php 95/head
Children below 2 yrs. old        FREE
Teachers with ID                       FREE
Senior Citizens with ID      50% discount

*Maximum of 1.5 hours, additional P60 for every hour thereafter.

Kinder Field Trip: Quezon Memorial Shrine Museum

Located inside Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon Memorial Shrine Museum houses the late President Manuel L. Quezon's remains and memorabilia. 

Manuel Luis Quezon y Molina was the 2nd President of the Philippines, and 1st President of the Commonwealth.

Memorabilia:

A portrait of former Pres. Manuel Quezon, and of his daughters, Baby and Nini Quezon.

A Time Magazine issue that accounted Manuel Quezon's inauguration as Commonwealth president.

A tailcoat from New York worn by Manuel Quezon for formal events.

 

 

Matrimonial bed

A present to the then-President Manuel Quezon from the Lepers.

Culion, located in Palawan, was a former leprosarium. or a leper colony.

He believed that lepers shouldn't be kept away in an isolated area.

It was him who initiated Women's Suffrage, the right of women to vote and to run for office, in the Philippines.

 Quezon died of Tuberculosis in New York, and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery. His body was later brought home to the Philippines, and was buried at the Manila North Cemetery, until they moved him to Quezon Memorial Circle.

Manuel Quezon was married to his first cousin, Aurora Antonia Aragon y Molina.

Five years after Manuel's death, Aurora and their daughter Baby were assassinated on their way to open a hospital that was dedicated to Manuel.

It was in 2005 when Aurora Quezon's remains were moved from Manila North Cemetery to Quezon Memorial

Lo and behold! Baby's Finally Home :)

I'm ecstatic at the moment! :)

Roll out the red carpet for our new baby, Maryam Amber.

Her parents prefer to call her "Amber", but I like calling her "Mai-Mai" ;D

Even with just a few hours of sleep, I woke up all hyped up to visit our new baby. As I've mentioned in my previous post, we didn't get to bring her home yesterday because she's under medication. We expected her to stay there for  3-7 days more, but when we visited her this morning, we were all thrilled when we were informed that she could go home with us already. We just need to bring her to her pedia twice daily for 7 days for her antibiotics, but that's better than just visiting her at the hospital.

We're all just grateful she's finally home.
